Burberry Beauty Spring/Summer 2011

Inspiration Behind Burberry's Newest Collection

Even more adorable than the couture-esque ensembles on Burberry’s SS 2011 runway, was the makeup. The models were made up with hazy eyes, soft red cheeks, and nudes on the skin and lips. The new lip and cheek shades, below, create distinct nude looks, described as natural, effortless, and sun-kissed. Burberry Spring/ Summer 2011 products are available now at Nordstrom's.
Light Glow ($42.00)

* Tangerine (No. 6)
* Earthy (No. 7)
* Misty (No. 8)

Lip Cover ($30.00)

* Delicate Rose (No. 22)
* English Rose (No. 23)
* Romantic Rose (No. 24)

Stylish Blogger Award!

Hey guys! I was just presented this award by Angel of Fashionably Numb ! Check out his blog- I personally love it, and it's one of the first I began following! I'm completely, 100% honored to be receiving so much praise lately... It's great to know that people actually enjoy reading what I write! So, here are the 8 facts about me:

1. In 10th grade, I went through my first heartbreak. He didn't like me, but it was OK, because I later learned he was GAY.
2. I've been dating my first (and only!) boyfriend for over two years now, and I've never been happier.
3. In fact, we just signed a lease yesterday for our first apartment together!
4. I always wanted to be a Buyer for Macy's, and I've planned on coming to FIT to major in Fashion Merchandising since I was 5. No joke.
5. It took my college English class (which I ended up getting a C- in!) to make me realize that I instead wanted writing to be my career.
6. My first internship, at JoonBug, is amazing, and opened my eyes to the wonderful world of beauty products.
7. Now, I plan to pursue a career as a Beauty Editor.
8. Last semester, I considered changing my major to Toy Design.

I choose to pass this award on to the following:

As Always, Kat
For The Love Of Beauty
Fashionista NY Girl
The Embellished Life

Links a la Mode: March 31st

Hey everyone!

I'm ridiculously, ridiculously psyched right now! So much, that I'm actually a bit late... Last week, I submitted a post to Links a la Mode on IFB for the first time, and I really didn't think I'd actually be chosen! But sure enough, when I checked back Friday morning, there it was- my post from a few days prior- "Sephora Launches The World’s First Unretouched Makeup Ad!" (See below) Honestly, going against so many popular, more established blogs, I'm thrilled beyond belief that Mallory In New York was chosen! It's A Lauder Family Affair

    Estee Lauder's Granddaughter Plans To Launch Her Own Company

    Aerin Lauder, Estée Lauder’s granddaughter and senior vice president of the current-day company, plans to break away in favor of beginning her own fashion and lifestyle brand. She has stated her hopes to be “the next Tory Burch”, and she has already begun to recruit a superstar team to assist her.

    Anna Wintour will be her advisor and NBC’s Jeff Zucker will be her assistant. She’s also recruited Ebs Burnough, the now-former White House deputy social secretary. He told his colleagues via email Friday that it would be his “last day at the White House.”

    The brand will include accessories, housewares, and jewelry, inspired by her grandmother’s designs. Aerin will keep her role as a senior creative director, as she’ll still be nearby. Her headquarters are rumored to be on East 57th Street, which is in the same building as Tom Ford!

    Khloe Kardashian for Cosmopolitan Middle East

    A First Look At The Cover Of The Premiere Issue!

    Here’s a first look at the cover of the first-ever issue of Cosmopolitan Middle East. Back when the announcement was first made, we wondered what the cover would look like. American Cosmopolitan is a bit more explicit than the newest edition, with coverlines that are completely toned down.

    The pink theme runs throughout the cover, but that was to be expected. Khloe Kardashian is featured as the first ever cover girl, and she’s pictured wearing a far beyond adorable Nicole Miller mini dress. Although it may differ from the version we’re used to, we’re still excited to see what’s inside!

    New Unexpected Celeb Favorite: Old Navy

    In Honor Of National Garden Month, Four Top Celebs Have Been Seen Sporting The Same Floral Dress!

    It’s a new year, and we should really give Old Navy some credit! After years of LOL-ing at their unsuccessful attempts to create fashion trends, we were shocked when realizing that they’ve finally had a success!

    In honor of National Garden Month, four stars have been spotted wearing the same Old Navy floral dress within the past 3 weeks! These stars are Carmen Electra, Louise Roe, Joanna Krupa, and LaLa Vazquez. If that’s not enough of a shock, the dress is only $34 and still available in every size!
