The Body Shop for Sephora

The Body Shop Is Creating A New Line To Be Sold Exclusively Through Sephora!

The Body Shop has announced that it will create an exclusive line to be sold through Sephora. The collection will include some of The Body Shop’s signature products, such as Body Botters, Vitamin C Facial radiance Kit, DeoDry Dry-Effect Deodorants, Peppermint Cooling Foot Set, and a Hemp Hand Protector Duo Set.

"[Sephora] is the kind of place our customer would expect to find us," says Phil Kowalczyk, president of The Body Shop. Kowalczyk is hoping that the collaboration will help The Body Shop gain more exposure. "We get a double benefit as our customers get additional outlets and the Sephora customer, in some cases, can rediscover the brand.”

The new collection hits 140 Sephora locations this week.

Academy Awards: Best Dressed

Our Top Picks Of Best Dressed Celebs At The Academy Awards!

Natalie Portman: We could hardly believe that Natalie was a mommy-to-be last night at the Oscars! The Black Swan star looked absolutely beautiful, and fashionable as ever in a deep purple Rodarte gown, accessorized with Tiffany jewelry.

Mila Kunis: The (other) Black swan star was nothing short of fabulous- Mila arrived in a gorgeous lavender gown designed by none other then Elie Saab!

Anne Hathaway: The Oscar hostess set the trend for incredibly stylish red gowns with her first (of four!) ensembles- a bright red strapless Valentino gown, paired with an extremely shiny diamond necklace. Perfection!

Scarlett Johansson: Scarlett stole the spotlight with an intense purple-red Dolce&Gabbana gown! The dress featured touches of lace and a sexy open back.

Penelope Cruz: carrying on the red trend, Penelope looks absolutely radiant in her L’Wren Scott dress, Jimmy Choo shoes (not that we could see them!), and Chopard ruled the red carpet yet again at the Academy Awards.

Amy Adams: The red-tressed star was nothing less than stunning in her blue sequined L'Wren Scrott gown! The jewel-toned dress complemented her complection perfectly, as did the $1.35 million in Cartier jewels!

Halle Berry: Halle arrived looking gorgeous as ever in a strapless nude Marchesa gown! The sequined dress was extremely form-fitting, and flared out with lace and tulle at the bottom. By far our favorite of the night!

Borris Powell Shines At The Oscars

Chicago-Based Designer Borris Powell Won The Oscars Designer Challenge 2011!

Borris Powell’s designs were shining at the Oscars last night, after beating out 9 other up-and-coming designers in the Oscars Designer Challenge 2011. Borris competed against finalists from all over the country, including fellow Chicagoans Miriam Cecilia Carlson and James De Colon. The grand prize? The opportunity to have his original evening gown worn by one of the escorts during the Awards!

The advisory committee for the competition selected the finalists and paired each designer with a model, and the public then voted for their favorite gown. As the winner, Borris’ model wore his design as she brought the Oscar statues onto the stage of the Kodak Theatre last night.

As if that wasn’t enough of an award, Valentino even told Borris that he liked his design!

Beyond The Rack: Handbags

On weekends, my absolute favorite sample sale website, Beyond The Rack, limits itself to crazy-low prices on no-name brands. Well, you'd be surprised how cute some of those no-name brands can be! (I know I can't believe I just said that either.. Reassurance: Designer Sunglasses)Here are my top picks:

1. Cora Clutch in Turquoise ($89.99). I LOVE this bright turquoise- it's the same color as my Florida house, believe it or not. This clutch has hidden zippers, pockets, and far beyond adorable corset lace-up details!

2. Joni Hobo Bag in Chocolate ($144.99). Look at the shape of this bag, and try telling me it's NOT incredible! I usually don't go for brown, but there's always an exception.

3. Miriam Wallet In Cashmere ($64.99). Again, brown isn't quite my color, no matter what shade, but there's no way I can resist this oversized wallet! The overload of studs give it an extremely rocker-esque feel.

4. Domizia Clutch in Red ($129.99). Although I typically hate plaid, i find this clutch ridiculously cute! I absolutely love the shape, and the patent leather and chain detailing.

Hautelook: American Apparel

Online Sample Sale Site Hautelook Brings Us Great Pieces From American Apparel!

I used to hate American Apparel. It was all anyone wore back in high school, just a bunch of ill-fitting over-priced basics in extremely blah colors. It didn't flatter ANYONE, honestly. I seriously hated the brand, and refused to conform. Well, that was then. This is now.

Fast forward 8 months, and I'm a second semester college freshman. Now, I'm in fashion school, surrounded by people who actually have some sense of style. For the most part, anyways. Now that I've witnessed the ill-fitting basics be turned into something not so hideous, it's safe to say I've had a change of mind as far as American Apparel. I now LOVE American Apparel.

As we all know by now, I only report on the sample sales of brands I like. So, here are my top picks for the American Apparel sample sale on Hautelook:

1. Faux Denim High Waist Skirt ($20). Unless we're talking about about Armani jeans, you will never hear me say anything positive about denim. I find it extremely uncomfortable, although sometimes stylish. Well, here's the solution- this skirt has the chic look, but it's not real denim! It does look extremely convincing, though. I'm in love with the high waist style for this season!

2. 6-Way jersey Bandeau Dress ($19). This dress is adorable beyond words. Look at the color scheme of this blog- its not too hard to tell that I love love love PINK!! The color in this is dark enough to be worn at night, so it's not too limiting. Also, you can wear it 6 different ways, so it'll be a while before you get bored.

3. Spandex Jersey Two-Tone Fitted Mini Dress ($17). Not much to say about this one- it's adorable even without my sarcastic comments. With a white capped-sleeve top, it's incredibly flattering to the neckline. It definitely doesn't look like a dress- more like an average shirt paired with an average black skirt, creating an incredibly effortlessly chic look!
